Heswall and District Animal Welfare Society is closing down at the end of 2024

We have been unable to get new volunteers willing to foster dogs or cats needing to be rehomed.

This was the main function of the Society, and a Special Meeting of Society members on 4 October 2024 accepted the recommendation of the Society’s Trustees and Committee that the Society should be dissolved.

It was agreed that the Coffee Mornings on 1 November and 6 December should take place, and it was noted that Wirral Animal Welfare Association (Reg. Charity No. 518910) was willing to consider continuing the commitments relating to the payment of ongoing veterinary treatment and long term fostering of dogs and cats.

The balance of Society’s funds at the end of 2024 will be transferred to Wirral Animal Welfare.

A number of smaller donations will be made to other animal charities before the end of 2024, as agreed by the Trustees and Committee.
